    Just When Everything Looked Fine.....

My Pearl breaks. The battery door latch popped out and so did the spring. Now I cant close the door completely and there is a big hole where the latch is. I have the latch and spring but it wont seem to connect. I was just opening it to do a battery pull. Anyway what are my options for fixing it?

BTW If I go through warranty (1 year warranty they give when you buy phone) can I choose another phone, this is gonna be my third Pearl (second replacement).

wow that sux, hmmm I can't tell in this product if it has the part that you need included, but you may want to ask to see if it does, if nothing else in may save you some hassle.

Thanks for the link. That just looks like the side plates and base. I watched the video and it looks like the guy used the latch from the old shell.

I would say call CS and complain about it. They might give you the option to get a different model but it depends on the rep.

thats expensive for just a latch assembly. If I go exchange I would just have to pay like $14 shipping overnight. I was hoping the 8800 or Curve was a exchange option, wishful thinking. lol.

I won it free on the Pinstacks 'Jivetalk" contest, so I had no choice on the license. So i guess it will be my time to pay. lol.

call the warranty department. I know on ATT you can ask the warranty rep what phones you can get and she should be able to tell you. Another option would be to go to a device support center ( call customer care to find one) and they can swap it out for you in store or give you a new battery door

Does warranty cover physical damage? Last time I checked, they didn't.

Just called T-mobile, there sending a replacement Pearl. Its a manufacturer defect (something along that line, covered by warranty) they said and they just told me they are willing to replace it. So a replacement is on the way. BTW T-mobile CS is top of the line, dealt with them twice, great, quick, and friendly service. Thats what I love about Tmobile.

Mine did the same thing on week two, I think. TMO offered me a new unit. I just used a piece of magic tape. Voila.

Now, I don't use anything, & the door doesn't come off until I want it off.
