I cant imagine a new BB costing under 400 bucks retail....... they will have some sign up specials popping up here soon.... that way it will bring the cost down some...

Ugh. I just posted wondering to renew with a 7130g or let it go and get the 8100. For $400 w/ contract, I'm priced out of the ballpark.

Id be surprised if it was 400 with a contract renewal. If youre eligible for an upgrade, I wouldnt expect to pay more than $299, with maybe even a rebate. Just my $.02. Could be way off base, but I'm fairly confident in this. As RIM/TMO are bringing this to market, they both want to insure this new entry into the consumer market MUST be a success for RIM. I imagine thats partially why they didnt spend the extra $60-70 on a 2.0 mega pixel camera. They want to get NEW people to see why BB is so great, and to do that, it MUST be affordable. Here's my uneducated guess:

    $199 new activation
$299 eligible upgrade with 2 yr contract ext
    $399 ineligible for upgrade/no contract

    Anyone else chime in?
