You can use Beamberry to view PDF, PPT, Word, XLS, and other types of documents. The link above is for the OTA download from your BB.

To view .jpg's, you'll probably need something like the Ascendo Photo Viewer which you can download on the Handango website.

Yes, once you have Beamberry installed, scroll down to the attachment and then click to "Open with Beamberry".

Yes, I am on OS 4.1 and can view those documents but usually not in the manor they are meant to be viewed. I usually don't have an issue with .jpg's either but I do use Beamberry to open most attachments so I can view them as they were intended.

You shouldn't have a problem viewing .jpg's from your phone w/o additional software. Does it give you an error or anything when you try to view these files?

Not to get this too off topic, but could you elaborate on how the beamberry files differ from just viewing them with the handset OS? Is the user interface better? Does it eliminate the need to 'zoom' and 'enhance'? When I read about it, it sounded like it just adds printing capability. From your post it sounds as though there is more, which could be cool.

Yes, Beamberry has a better interface, is quicker and you don't have to do all the zoom and enhance stuff. It does it for you. Plus it's free so give it a try.

chevelle350, I ran into the same thing. Beamberry does a great job with PDFs and Powerpoints, but it doesn't appear to support jpgs. The phone OS jpg viewer isn't too bad--you just have to zoom around to the portion you want to see clearly and hit 'enhance'. It's not the slickest interface. I assume you're trying to look at email attachments, right? Which OS are you using?

Actually, come to think of it, I tried to open a jpeg file once on my original Pearl and ran into a problem... it's since been replaced and haven't tried it yet..
Anyway, I just downloaded BeamBerry and it works great so far except it 's been running continually in the background- a battery pull didn't turn it off.... how do I shut this off so I can conserve precious battery power?
