Issues with using 2 GB MicroSD card in a Pearl

Ok guys... I'm stumped... bought a 2 GB MicroSD card and put it in my Pearl with no luck... formats and reads okay in the device (shows up as 1.8 GB after formatting) but hooking up with the PC doesn't bring up the "removable drive" or anything of the sort...

Checked for everything obvious... all versions are latest including desktop manager, etc., etc. Toggled media card mass storage mode between ON and OFF, still no luck...

The 2 GB MicroSD card doesn't even show up in the Media Manager... dunno what's going on...

    TIA

Make sure when its plugged into your computer your keyboard isn't locked. I don't know why, but my BB can't be read as "Removable Drive" unless its unlocked. As for the 1.8GB of free space, the missing .2GB is actually the memory used by folders and formats for the pearl. (It sucks, but the world isn't perfect.)

I sport a 2GB in my pearl and I'm still good! So make sure your keyboard isn't locked. Make sure your USB 2.0 Device Drivers are installed, and if that doesn't work... throw some water on your bathroom mirror in the dark, spin around twelve and a half times chanting "BLoodyberry, bloodyberry", if the water turns to blood and a face appears, find out if it can help. If this doesn't work I'm all out of ideas, hopefully a tech can help out

This would explain why pink elephants have been following me ever since I got off work. Whoah!!!!

Oh... sorry, one of them kicked me.

Yeah so I have a weird sense of humor... it gets alot of LOL's, and I personally think people have better days due to laughing and smiling. Smiling for 3 minutes straight creates enough endorphines to just enjoy hours out of your day.

Not really. 1.86 gig is 2,000,000,000. Yes, the folders use just a bit (I guess one cluster each?), but the real difference is in how the same sizes are reported differently.

I'm tired, did that make any sense?

Yup... the PC makes a dung-dung sound of connecting but that might be the sound for connecting the blackberry... I have Windows Explorer open which "refreshes" a few times but nothing new really shows up... I'm outta ideas... right now I have the card out and plugged in directly in the computer while I'm dumping some songs on it to test if it works okay...

I would hate to always have to take the pearl apart to change content on the SD... would suck!!

go to options, advanced options, media card,
    mass storage support to on,
    auto enable set to prompt,
and last but not least, like justyn said, make sure your keypad is not locked.

after you plug in to your computer you should get a prompt on your bb to enable mass storage click yes.

Nothing's working for me... the card however does work if I take it out, put it in a standard SD adapter and plug it in my computer... this blows!
