    Issue: Phone goes to voicemail.

Hello all. I have an issue with my blackberry pearl. When my phone sits for 3-4 hours any and all incoming calls go directly to my voicemail. I thought it was the phone, but I just got a second phone and it has the same issue. It continues the issues with a different sim card as well. It is a cingular phone, that I have unlocked to use with a different network. Any ideas? Thanks for your time.

Wow that's a new one. Do you have the password functions enabled?

The second phone, is it unlocked as well? What happens if you try a phone from your carrier, not unlocked? How is the service in your area, does it happen to other people as well?

Re: Issue: Phone goes to voicemail.

I believe pass word funcition is disabled. This is the second phone that I have tried, and both were unlocked and both went directly to voicemail. I want to use the phone because my provider does not have any blackberry product. It is as though the phone quits looking for the network after 4 hours and goes to sleep or something. The service appears to be fine, no big dropping issues. I didn't know if there were any settings that would make it go dormit after a time... or a way for it to constantly look for signal. I know in motorola phones you can set it to look more frequently than default setting but it uses more battery. ??? any more ideas?

HRM... I just talked to cingular and they said it is the phone.... however I think it has something to do with it being unlocked and having a different companies sim card in the device... If any one has any inside info let me know. I will stay tuned.

Seems like a network of service problem-check with your wireless provider.

It is a cingular phone, but the sim card is through a little company called centennial wireless.

I'm not sure if you got your issue resolved but if its an unlocked phone you'll actually have to have your carrier settings set on to the device. So you'll be able to access web and sms voicemails etc. After that's down go to your call log and pull up the menu and go to options then to call forwarding. Make sure that the option that says forward calls is not marked and the sub menu says do not forward calls. Then the second item will read forward calls if unanswered.make sure that option is marked And there are going to be thrr submenus there. If busy if unanswered and one more make sure all three of them have the correct voicemail box number. Hope that helps. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

Maybe a dumb question but what kind of signal strength are you showing? I knwo mine goes to searching sometimes while sitting inside.

I have normal signal with no dropage issues. I will try the forwarding options. What do you mean by have the carrier settings set? Every time I set the settings to do not forward and save the changes, I check the settings and they re set themselves back to default numbers.... It is really weird. And it does not allow me to change the numbers... It has my "if unanswered number" to some weird number... not my phone number which may be my desicnated voicemail number by the provider. I set it to my other cell phone and the forwarding option works really well, but this would mean all of my incoming calls will go to my other cell phone which I really can't have.
