    Is my battery dead.?

I've had my 8100 Pearl for about 4 months or so. Last night my battery did drain to the point where it shut off, now this has happened to me before so it was no big deal. I turned it on last night also to make sure everything was fine and it was, but it was still low so i powered it off.

This morning I wake up and try to turn it on, and it would not come on. All I would get was the RED light when I insert the charger into the device. I then held the power button and what I got was a white screen with a big battery on it, with a lighting bolt going through it.

I didn't upgrade anything, download any apps. I haven't gotten it wet I know this for a fact. Can anyone help??

I don't know what to do, or there is no possible troubleshooting to my knowlege because it won't come on....

I believe that constant draining completely/charging a battery is hard on them. If I were going to bet, I would say you need a new one. JMO

I agree with chokem, and since you're still under warranty, you might want to take it into the store and they might even give you a new device after all this!

Just go to the store and blame the whole thing and they will prolly get you a new one if not go to another one and blame the battery for being a piece!

Well I did go to the store, and they said the phone had NO damage so I'm not sure what's going on. But they said since I'm still under warranty I can get a new one! YAY!!! But I still have to wait. *sigh*

Well no they didn't give me a new battery, it wasn't the battery actually. It was the phone it self which was a bummer. And my pearl has died before maybe the constant strain on the batter idk.

But luckily I am still under warranty so they are shipping me a new one!! THANK GOD!

glad it worked out for you. Ive read a lot of articles stating that you should let your battery drain almost completely, then recharge. Ive had 20 or so BlackBerries and I charge them every night, whether they are half charged or what, and in doing so Ive never had a battery issue.

That's good. I misunderstood your post when you said they couldn't find a problem with the phone. I guess these newer devices are heavier on the battery than the older ones. I had a 7100t that I could charge one night and use for nearly a WEEK.
