    Question Internet before Service?

My family and I went to the T-mobile store and got out phones for when we can cancel Verizon and start T-Mobile the same day since we will be out of town. I just got my "new" pearl last night and the guy that was doing all of the stuff for us said that " the internet should be working on the pearl even though the activation wont start until 11/21/07." it puzzled me at the time but hey that sounded like a great deal! however it has been about 12+ and no internet. has anyone ever heard this before? if so i could use some help getting started.

its running the newest OS version: 107 for T-mobile

ps-there is no browser icon in the menu list which i am told is an indicator as to whether or not internet is work on the phone.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~try resending your service books.

    Also try a battery pull.

Let me know if you have a question.

The question here is what kind of plan do you have. Blackberrys required a special plan meant for blackberrys. It would have been a 19.99 add-on. So if you don't have a data plan that would be your first problem.

If you do have a plan, then you need to go TMO account and set it up.

    Re: Internet before Service?

did the battery pull 5 times last night and once today.

the guy at the store added on the data to the plan in store. i made sure of it.

we have the my favs 700 plan with unlimited text/pic/IM plan and i got the BIS plan of my blackberry for $19.99.

it doesnt even show the other bands on t-mo network like EDGE where my dad can with his 8700. Just GSM.

any ideas are greatly appreciated. thanks for the replies so far guys.

ps- i have not hooked it up to my PC yet if that matters at all...

you need to go to your TMO account and look in the bottom left corner and setup your email.

That will get your service books

Will that activate my phone or just get the internet working? My mom will rip my head off if i activate the phone early. Also, when the 21st comes around we are going to port our numbers from verizon, will that mess anything up?

Well you can't do anything until you have an active account. You're going to have to wait.
