    internet and bluetooth?

    Hi everybody,

I'd like to know if it's possible to connect to internet via Bluetooth?
I have a bluetooth key on my computer. My BB and my PC can connect perfectly (for example synchronization works perfectly).

Now I'd like to be able to connect my BB to internet (browsing, gmail etc.) through bluetooth and not with GPRS access...
    Any idea?

    A+

Sorry, no. I am not even sure how you think this would work? Are you trying to access your computers internet connection via your BT connection?

    Re: internet and bluetooth?

browsing the interent through your computers connection at this point is definitely not possible. and as for tethering over bluetooth link GaryF is right; this has been a long debated software issue that still hasn't been resolved. Some people here in the forums have claimed to have achieved it but usually only for a few seconds and then it fails.
No one has been really that concerned with this mainly because the tethering option really isn't that bad.

Tethering with Tmo works great and has for a long, long time. I'm not aware of any debate about that. I recently had an outage on my cable for a while and tethered for several hours. It's all about following the instructions.

As for penhuel, like gary stated, sharing your PC's internet connection is not possible. I'm confused why you'd want to do this anyway. If you have a connection on your PC and you have your PC's browser, why not sit down at your PC? Are you just trying to download apps and other stuff directly to your BB?

The aim is just to be able to surf or read email via the BB while the computer is not accessible in fact. Either when someone use it or when you are seated in your couch.

    That's just it.

I was referring to that of using tethering over bluetooth link.

    No worries Karl....
Do you have a data plan? Perhaps no data service in the home? If that is your issue there is talks of a
wifi BB coming soon that would allow you to use a wireless set in in your home for access - but even this will require a data plan. At the end of the day with your BB, no data plan = no web access.
