    incoming Bluetooth transmission refused

I have paired at least 3 phones with my pearl in order to receive files. Every time this is attempted it fails.

It appears my phone if refusing incoming connections. Reason being is that I have no problems sending to another device.

I have checked that the paired device is trusted. I've also tried disbling encryption, and checking if the firewall is disabled.

Is this a common problem, if so is there a checklist I can run through.

    Running 101 os.

    Thanks!

What are you trying to recieve? With the BB if you are trying to recieve a picture you need to go into your picture folder and click the menu button and then click recieve using bluetooth. Same goes for ringtones and such. Sending on the other hand is as easy as it should be. I know its frustrating.

Yes...the BB must have been created and bestowed upon
us by the Almighty Himself because it is amazingly
    wonderful in all that it does to divert and entertain {LavaGirl}

check out #9 in this thread

it's about pearls but keep in mind the send and receiving using bluetooth options.

The other device doesn't matter just make sure you're using those options on your pearl.

I guess I shouldn't post late at night.

Yes, I have tried going into the appropriate menu in the media player and have selected receive via Bluetooth. None have worked.

Tested with image (jpg), video (3gp) and music (mp3).

    Re: incoming Bluetooth transmission refused

I had the same problems and found the above solution mentioned in this thread also...

    http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com...h_trouble.html

I have successfully used this method to transfer an image, movie and mp3 file from my laptop to my Pearl. Seems to work OK but the music files seem to appear in the ringtones folder despite me opening music folder->options->recieve using bluetooth. No biggee, I will be transferring most of my files via USB but I'm glad I can share files with other peoples phones.

    Another helpful, nice work folks.

    Re: incoming Bluetooth transmission refused

    This is still not working.

Followed instructions to the letter. But I'm going to document this step by step. File being transfered is a jpg that I managed to send from my Pearl to the other mobile. See if I'm doing anything wrong.....

    (A) = Pearl
    (B) = Samsung U600

    1. Turned bluetooth on (A) & (B)
    2. Searched active devices (A)
    3. Found device (B) and paired. Set a pass code as 0000
    4. On (A) selected Media > Pictures > Media card > RIM button > Receive Using Bluetooth
    5. On (B) found image and selected to send via bluetooth
    6. (A) Screen says "File Transfer: Waiting for connection". Bluetooth light flashes twice.
    7. (B) Transfer failed

I know (B) works as it can send to other devices successfully.
Under bluetooth settings, I have checked and (B) is set as a trusted device and encryption is set to disable.

    Re: incoming Bluetooth transmission refused

this is from the Bluetooth trouble shoot in the HELP on BB.

Verify that, in the bluetooh options, the address book transfer field is set to enabled (not sure abts this).
Verify that, your bb is connected to to a bluetooth enabled device that supports the hands free profile or the object push profile. See the documentation enabled device for more information about supported profiles.

    Re: incoming Bluetooth transmission refused

In the bluetooth options Address book transfer has the following options. Disabled ; All entries ; Hotlist Only ; Selected Categories Only. Mine is set to All entries.

FYI, Discoverable = yes, Allow outgoing calls = Always, LED Connection indicatior set to On (not that this one will make much difference)

The device that is paired does suport object push, is set to trusted and I have set encryption to disabled.
