    Hey all,
    I have a really huge problem that I've had for a while now. I have a Pearl and I'm using Windows Vista. Put them together and all I ever get are the USB connect and disconnect sounds for a good 2 minutes or until i actually disconnect the pearl. Desktop Manager does not recognize the pearl because windows is just playing a little game with itself. I'm using "T-Mobile's" latests desktop manager. The way I get around it usually is to uninstall desktop manager, restart, reinstall desktop manager, restart. We all know thats a long process and all I want to do is sync my contacts and calendar. Can someone please help me? It's much appreciated!

    I am not a computer tech...first call the tech supports guys...Tmobile...blackberry...windows...i dont know.

    option: Plug your Blackberry into your computer and then run Windows update.
    option: Install the newest Driver

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ I have Vista, and I have never had a problem with DM and our Pearls or syncing. Sad to hear so many people do though, good luck, hope you get it all figured out

    yeah i have the same issue with vista and DM. its annoying having those stupid sounds go off constantly when i'm listening to music. i usially just turn off sound and quickly do what i'm doing with DM so i can go back to enjoying my music. Its kind of like the ostrich sticks his head in the ground.

    I wish it was only the sounds, but DM just wont recognize it and i'm not sure why. I couldn't find any information that power issue either.

    I read your first post again. I think it's your DM version. Go here and grab the Service Pack 2 version.

    You can grab the one with or without the Roxio. Two different versions just scroll down a bit. Install it using the link I gave you up top and tell me how it goes.

    I think the DM version you're using is a little out of date.

    Should I restart after installing DM? I think that may be my problem. I'm pretty computer savvy (hope so to be in my field of work) but this just blows my mind b/c i've tried everything. Thanks again.

    You could try restarting...I'm not familiar with Vista at all.

    So you followed the directions in this link http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com...ger_vista.html with the updated version of the Desktop Manager?

    Edit: Do you think my theme (iPhone theme) may have something to do with my connection issues?

    Have you tried to comepletely uninstall the Desktop Manager ? And reboot then download the latest version of the Desktop Manager with all the right drivers ?

    I know vista can be a pain .I have it and havent had any problems so to speak with the desktop manager or it syncing up with my phone .

    But i had issues with microsoft office. I had a trail version and it expired and someone gave me micro office 03 professional and i installed it and it worked until i removed the trail version
    then nothin wanted to work for me . all i got was errors. It was such a headache. When i went to uninstall all the micro office programs it wouldnt allow me to do it bc of some conflict with another version . It took me 2 days to finally remove all bits and pieces of m/o then i had to reinstall everything from scratch to get it to work and sync up correctly again .

    Vista doesnt like any fragments of the old install other wise you will more then likely have the same issues even after a new install .

    Posts from Vista users that cannot connect are all too common so I doubt the theme is the problem . Did you remove the old DM before installing the new version? You may also need to do a little deeper cleaning of all BB related files on your desktop so you are truly starting clean. I beleive there is a post here that disusses that - I will look around and post back if I can find it.


    I have also read that Vista does not like Roxio Media Manager so try installing the version without (sp1 I beleive)
