    Improving home reception

I just purchased a cell phone extender that brings a good outside signal into the home and re-broadcasts it.

You must be able to obtain a good signal outside your house somewhere, mount an antenna there and a coax cable brings it in to a re-broadcast device with antenna. There are signal boosting antennas too, but that cost even more.

It has improved signal in most of my house from 1-2 bars to 4-5 bars. Testing is in process.
They are expensive, over $200, but it seems to work real well and might be a solution for the many stackers who have poor indoor signal issues.

I think there are other models out there too.

Hope that is helpful. If testing brings up any issues, I'll update.

I've seen these as well. I get decent reception at home, but when we go to our cabin at the lake, we have to either drive about a mile or be out on the water in order to get signal. I'm not sure if these products would solve my problem.

Yeah, you have to be able to put an antenna in a good signal area.
A mile is a long coax cable...
The signal booster devices seem to be 6-9dB, not much unless you already have a borderline signal.
I think these devices are for those like me with good signal blocked by home features.

    Re: Improving home reception

i get better signal up north at my lake then at my house in the city. the only place i get signal in my house is MY bedroom window. any other place i can barely talk or use data. might be worth it to me to buy this and set the antenna outside my window. that would cancel out the mile long coax

This is the deal I got from Smarthomes.com. Not the boosted version though.
So far it is working great by the way.

    Items You Ordered
Wireless Extender System For PCS Phones:
    $224.99

    S&H: $9.99

    TOTAL: $234.98

This is the yx500 for PCS phones only. The dual version costs more, but this works for Tmobile.

Are you guys still happy with these? I really need something like where I live. Anything even better by the same vendor?
