    I'm confused.

When you lock your phone, by pressing *, and you click your trackball it comes up with-
    "Handheld is locked"

And you can unlock it, emergency call, or cancel. Why won't it let me click unlock to unlock it? I have to press * and the green phone button and I don't like it.

    Can anyone help?

I think they set it up that way so if its locked and in your pocket you can't accidentally push the button and unlock it.

Needing 2 buttons to unlock makes it harder to accidentally unlock.....I don't know of a way to change that....maybe someone else has an idea about that.~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

Yeah I dont think there is a way to change that sorry.. I have to agree with azstar, that would make the ability of unlocking very easy.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~if you have it set for password protection then when you choose "unlock" it prompts you for the password... I think that's why its on there even though it doesn't "work" to unlock it

The reason why it is like that is because when you have it on yout pocket or a case sometimes the trackball gets pressed so it prevents it from doing unlocking by itself its just like any other phone really

i wouldnt say useless...its very handy if your bb is in your pocket...

the only thing i would think of that might be wrong with this whole thing is that you can still "accidentally" make an emergency call while it is locked...even if its in your pocket and it manages to call...that could be a problem
    BlackBerry Rocks!<-Check it out!

as you said it can still dial but its only on rare occacions that happens you really must be pressing agaings something for that to happen or you wear some really tight jeans which I would say you will find that very unconfortable lol
I do use it a lot and find it very useful keeping nosey people out of my phone specially with the pasword enable

Well my phone is rarely in my pocket, so I find it useless. Haha.

Then don't lock it. If you aren't using a Password, and don't worry about making accidental phone calls, then why lock the keyboard?

If you have password protection enabled then you are able to click the trackball to unlock, and then you can enter your password.

If it's disabled then you are not able to click the trackball you have to press the 2 buttons.

Jake, why don't you get a guard dog for the phone. That way, kids are not able to go near it...lol...

You know, three little kids are probably not going to be stopped by the keygaurd alone, I know my two wouldn't be. If you are worried about the kids getting into the phone I would use a password instead of just the keygaurd.
