Okay, good. Let's make sure it's there before you attempt to install Docs2Go.

My download is almost half done. For some reason I also cannot delete the vendor.xml file...I click it, hit delete (or right click-->Delete), authenticate myself, then it appears it is deleting, but it stays in the AppLoader folder. ???? Maybe this new download will be different. Or maybe that is a Windows issue.

Since you're not installing this on your device, don't worry about deleting that file.

Ok, the new 4.5.0.124 is installed. How can we find and install Docs2Go?

    Sorry.....didn't mean to abandon you!

Connect your device to the PC and go to the AppLoader folder. Double click on the Loader executable (it'll have a little cell phone icon by it). That will launch the Application Loader, which in turn should display the list of applications. Scroll down until you see Docs2Go and check the box. Click Next and it should take you through to the end and install the application.

Not a problem. Thank you for sticking around to help me.

I loaded the Loader application. Docs2Go does not appear in the list...only the 3rd party applications currently on my device.

Wouldn't reinstalling the current OS do it?

If Docs2Go isn't in the list of applications to install, then reinstalling the OS isn't going to make a difference. You scrolled all the way to the bottom and Documents to Go is not in the list?

Correct...it's nowhere on that list. Basically that looks the same as "Application Loader" does in Desktop Manager...

Okay, let's try this.....we're going to upgrade your device tonight.

Remove the 4.5.0.124 from your PC, then go here and get 4.5.0.162 for your 8100.

Once you've done that, follow these instructions for the upgrade. I'm betting Docs2Go will be with this release of the OS and for a bonus, you'll have a shiny new OS on your device.

Awesome!! You're great, thanks for the help. I haven't had time to do anything yet, but I will get it done asap and let you know how it went.

edit: something is going wrong. I downloaded from that link and installed. I start Desktop Manager (i'm using 4.6) and go to Application Loader. For some reason it doesn't notify me that new software is available. I'm thinking maybe a removal of 4.6 and get 4.7 or newer?

Did you delete the vendor.xml file as per the above instructions?

DM 4.6 is probably the most solid release of the software, so no reason to scrap that. You can also circumvent the use of Desktop Manager and use the Loader executable in the AppLoader folder.
