I am not all that familiar with Cellular One, but there is a IM program called OZ Messenger that some carriers support. You might poke around a bit and see if that available to you. While free, it uses your SMS / Text message (so not really free). Jive Talk, on the other hand, is very popular with our Stackers, and it costs $19 I beleive, but it uses data, so once you pay for the APP if you have a data plan your usage is free. so far as I know, both of these support MSN Messenger.

Beyond that - I know of no free application for messaging that uses data.

Well I know that eBuddy does what I want it to do, but I haven't been able to find one that works with my 8100.

Jake I'm with ATT now since cell one merged with them in our area. I know that we get OZ but try JiveTalk, you wont be dissapointed. BTW I am also in Minnesota and not that far from you, sent you a request on the messenger

You may want to take a look at this thread. It has all the messengers listed. After you read it you probably will be able to get the exact match that will suit you best.

Jive Talk, if you have data plan.
I use it with MSN, Yahoo, GoogleTalk and ICQ...
Pay more for user licence, it's worth it...

yea because any avid bb user knows they will get a new one sometime in the future, so have the user license is the most logical idea here.
