How well does the Pearl stand up to living in your pants pocket?

Does the trackball become dirty and inoperable? Do the buttons get pressed accidentally so you make random phone calls? Is the Pearl pretty fragile?

Now the Pearl's been out a while I'd love to know how it is standing up to real-world abuse. Thanks in advance for any input on this.

I've had a few scraches on the cover but other then that I haven't had any trackball issues. It has a lock feature that I would recommend using to avoid the call for the pocket problem!

Just the usual, fingerprints, minor scratches, dust and lots of accidental calls. My #2 button isnt as lit up as the rest of the keys, I see the led but it looks like the button has been oversprayed.
Overall, its more of function over form.
Im a heavy bb user and its great!

In my pants pocket all the time, locked so it won't make accidental calls. As long as keys are in the other pocket, no problems; no scratches or dings. And, it seems the cotton clothing keeps it polished and clean!

I bought the leather pocket for mine so it doesn't get scratched up or dirty when it's in my pocket. Doesn't add much bulk and it saves the screen and trackball. AND it has the magnet so it goes to sleep like it would in a holster.

Think I may need to invest in the leather pocket as well!

I got one too, and agree with raven. I used the Seidio rubberized case for 2 months, and it's way thinner, but the whole screen/keyboard is bare (I have a screen protector). The leather pocket is nice, and now I think it's all I use for the pocket.
    BB Pearl, Seidio rubberized case.

    Hi,

I bought myself one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWN:IT&ih=004 and I find it protects my Pearl well. Doesn't make it much bulkier either but the screen and keys are covered with just a hole for the trackball.

    Thanks
    Mike

Well, I've only had it for a week but so far so good. No keys of course.
