Question how to use voice memos

On several sites that sell the BB pearl, they list one of the functions as voice recording. I wonder if there is a way to record voice memos to self, sort of turning th eBBP into a mini recorder , any ideas?

Though it doesn't appear to be so at first, you can record up to 1 minute of audio, and not send it, but save as a draft. Then you can save the audio as a file into the Media app.

    can you elaborate on that....

I am using the BBP as a phone and pda only, I do not have an email feed, because i don't get that many emails.
Could you elaborate on how to save these 1 minute memos, where do I go in the menu to start, how to store etc..
Thank you for your very prompt replies, this is a great forum, but then again the BBP is really the most awsome phone i have ever seen.

    Lewis,
I've tried your advice above, but after saving the draft, I'm at a loss to figure out how to save it to the media app. Any help would be appreciated!

That still doesn't allow you to save in your media player or your media card. Thanks though!

    My apologies!

What I mentioned above I thought was possible because I had done it!

....then I tried to verify my claims.....only to be proven incorrect!

All I could get it to do was save a draft in the Messages app.

After playing with it some more, I realise that it's a bit more limited than I originally thought.

Sorry for the confusion and misleadingmentnessington.

I know this is the wrong thread and I expect this ought to be moved. On the 8700c, and I am assuming that it is still locked to ATT, You don't have the option of composing an MMS. At least neither of my 8700c's do. I believe its an ATT thing. You also cannot receive them either. I hope that isnt too discouraging.

    Good Luck,
    Ian

If all you see is SMS, then that means that you do not have a data plan, OR you have yet to send your service books.

Re: how to use voice memos

there is a great program for voice recording it's called VR+.

    Main Benefits
    • Make high quality voice records. Record clear any length message.
    • Recordings in various formats - WAVE and AMR - supported.
(AMR format is supported for e-mailing, WAVE for playback on the device).
    • Automatic reformatting into mp3 for playback on the PC or any mobile.
    • User-Friendly Interface. Simple menu and convenient interface.
    • One-time fee. All further updates are free.

    Key Features
    • Record, Stop, Pause and Play all conveniently arranged. Execute any of the commands without going to the menu.
    • Integrated in BlackBerry Messages client. Compose a message with VR+, send it to anybody from Address Book and reply using VR+.
    • Start recording at the application startup.
    • Group the records by the date or by categories.
    • Sending sound message as a URL - optional opportunity.
    • Select the theme to fit your mood.
    • Helpful tips. Pop-up tips for easy work with the application.
    • Allocate memory for the recordings. Select how much memory will be used to store the recordings.
    • Support and Feedback. Send the support request and feedback directly from the application.
    To download over-the-air open wap.shapeservices.com
    DM install http://www.shapeservices.com/en/prod...vr&platform=bb

It's a great program and the only reason you would have to purchase the software is if you wanted to continue to have the ability to send the recordings after the 7 day trial ends, I have been using the free version for months and not once have i used the send as attachment option. The recording quality is awesome, I recorded my drunk friend singing Chantilly lace at a karaoke bar and played it back for him when he was sober, ah soo much fun.
