I don't have a data plan. I have an unlimited text message plan. I've used 5400 text messages so far this month. Oh yea!

Update on my usage. It seems if I sort of browse around on the web a bit each day (not nearly as much as I'd like to), I get close to 1MB usage, if carry on like this at end of month I'm looking at big overage costs. The Rogers "unlimited data plan" gives you 25MB of data a month before they start charging, havn't quite figured out how they have an "unlimited data plan" that gives you only 25MB of data.

    Soundspeed:

Did you buy one of "voice & email" plans? They mostly suck.

You could likely get a better deal with purchasing voice and data separately.

BlackBerry Data Plan alone is $60 for 25 MB, or $100 for 200 MB.

You can pair that with ANY voice plan, even promotional plans.

Expect to see prices dropping soon, with the introduction of Wireless Number Portability, Rogers, Telus, and Bell will start to get more price focussed on competition, as well as improving their customer retention policies.

I don't mean to hijack this thread too much, but being as someone that currently doesn't have a blackberry and currently out of the country for school. I have been trying to figure out the best plan for a pearl or an 8800 on my return to Canada. (I'm aware the 8800 isn't available yet or even announced.)

What is this wireless number portability and how will it stir the pot of competition?

    Thanks

I'm on a promotional plan, unlimited calling for 3 months and half off the data portion, if I go on a voice and data plan. That's why I'm trying to make sure I don't go over for a few months.
