Yep... that's about the average. I've already done away with my 2gb iPod Nano since my Pearl now has a 4gb card holding a ton of mp3's and several entire episodes of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent".
Who needs an iPod when the Pearl can do just about everything and iPod can, and more?

Can I store ringtones on the card as well? I know that I can't store apps on there, but what about ringtones?

Ohs yes! Ringtones, songs, pictures and videos. It's a nice little media fair.

I know all mine are MP3. Not sure if aac works on the pearl. Is that not a apple format.

It works on there. So does .wma. I am just wondering what is the smallest size file, but still with good quality. I think that .wma might be the best option.

So i got my new Pearl today!!!! It's still in the box for I have this fear of somehow screwing it up! So 2gb is good for a few albums, misc songs, and whatever else finds its way to my Pearl? If 2 gb holds 1000, then 1 would hold 500 songs? Im just trying to figure out what would be the best for me. I highly doubt I'll put 1000 songs on my Pearl....Anyone know the $$ difference?

I store 320 kbps quality and my 4 gig holds 800 so a 2 gig would hold 400 and a 1 gig would hold 200.

Average price on a 1 GB card is around $25, average for a 2GB is $40, depending on where you go and when you look you can find them cheaper. I got my 1 GB from http://www.meritline.com/ a bit back for $9.99. Just have to look around a bit.

I have put AAC files onto my 8100 and they play fine. These are AAC files that I ripped onto my Apple and not ones purchased though iTunes (which have copy protection).
