Thumbs up How do you insert SD Card in Blackberry Pearl 8100

How in the blazes do you insert the SD card in the blackberry pearl? Is there a hidden door to the inner sanctum? There are a very few occasions where I have felt this frustrated. Should it not be obvious? I am hoping some genius on this forum can save me. If you have a clue, please pass it on.

Take your battery cover off, lift the battery out of the phone, and viola, theres your sd card latch.

There is a small metal clip under the battery compartment. You slide it with your thumb and it lifts up back and slip the card inside. Press down and slide the metal door back to the right until locks in place.

First of all you have to be a surgeon, JK. Look at the thread Gary referred to, it will show you. I put one in my wifes 8100, wow, that was fun.

LOL i think i knwo where you are having troubles, you have to slide it into the latch because it has theses clips on the insides that hold it into place.

If you dont understand take a look in the thread mentione above its a crazy good tut...

The card has to be face up (with the logo showing) when you insert it into the holder. Then gently press the door down and slide it to the left (if you're looking at the back of your BB with the USB port to the left).

Yea I ran into this same problem too. You assume it's like the SIM card and you just drop it onto the contacts and then throw the latch over it. WRONG! You actually have to slide the sd card into the latch as it has these little grooves built into it. Then once the SD card is INSIDE the metal latch pointing straight up into the air, you lower the latch+sd card together.

What a bunch of geniuses. I feel blessed your presence.

Oh, Wait! Why do I have only 15 MB when the card says 1GB?

    Thanks!

Unfortunately, RIM, in its great and unquestionable wisdom, does not provide access for the BB system memory from the SD card, among many other tiny inconveniences.

The size is dependent on available memory. If the card is not formatted for your particular phone it might not show as the full capacity. Go to options>media card>hit the menu button>select the "format card" option> select "yes" to proceed and you should be running on all cylinders after that. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
