A few people are saying the phone is lagging and what not. Does it lag only after you turn it on? Or it just lags period?

I'm just hopping I don't have any issues with mine.

been running mine since this morning. some hourglass here and there (only a second or so) ...

remember to delete your call logs, then change the option to not 'record' (i do this with every device i have) ... also check here for other ways to deal with memory leaks, lagging, etc.

i downloaded the TMO os from their site, only to find out it is .151 and my pearl has .155 on it, so i will be staying with the .155 for now.

I'll answer my own question and say I have no lag. My 8220 came with .151 so I will do an upgrade whenever I can.

I can only give my opinion coming from the Curve and I can say the lag is BAD. Although I've owned the Pearl before the Curve I don't remember it ever being this bad. I regret to say that I've switched back to my Curve. I could not take it anymore...it's not one thing that caused me to jump ship but a compound of minor annoyances.

Just to be clear, the lag isn't the occasional hour glass here and there. What I mean by lag is the delay in formation of the text when typing very quickly. This does not happen with the Curve. This frustrates me because sometimes Suretype chooses the wrong word and It appears after I've typed several words after the misspelled word and have to go back and delete or fix it.

Another annoyance is that the internet seems glitchy. I'm not sure if it's my area but Curve never was like this. My buddy with a Curve will have perfect EDGE and I won't even after turning wireless on and off. I usually have to restart the phone.

The webpages that usually load on Curve somehow hits "Error while trying to load page" on the 8220. I was not able to fix this, but at this point I really did not care to even try.

This is my first phone with video. Even though streaming video loads relatively quickly, for some reason I don't think it's worth it without the 3G.

Overall in my opinion the handset is a bit unstable, but understandably so since it is a brand new device. I think it has potential to be a really solid phone. Through this phone though I've realized that efficiency and speed is my #1 priority and the 8220 didn't deliver for me. =(

For those that are having typing delays, did you change your key rate?
