Help with Video

I just downloaded the trial version of Media Studio for Blackberry 1.0 and it only lets you make a 3 minute video clip. The sound is a bit off. I was thinking of buying the full version but i dont want to pay for it if the sound quality is that bad. Has anyone else had the same problem?

Re: Help with Video

Hi all.I tried the trial version of this app. it looks nice but thats about it, another stacker called air4ce1 contacted the company called makayama and they blamed all the faults on the Blackberry device, heres their reply:

FONT=Arial]Dear customer,

Sorry for the late reply due to the holidays.

You may have noticed that the Blackberry Pearl's video player is flawed in
many respects, for example it doesn't play full screen video, it takes a
very limited number of video formats, it doesn't react very well to
trackball commands, etc. But one of the worst bugs is that it sometimes has
difficulty playing videos which are longer than an hour. This is ofcourse a
problem when you want to watch feature films on the Pearl. Unfortunately,
this bug is in the Blackberry video player itself, not in our software, so
we can't solve it, RIM has to fix this.

However, we're trying to provide a different solution so that our customers
can keep using the Pearl for longer movies. We're working on an update of
Media Studio for Blackberry that will divide a DVD into 20-minute chapters,
and then convert those, so that the Pearl should play them flawlessly. This
update will be available in the coming weeks.

We apologise for the inconvenience and will notify you when the updated
version 1.1 is available for the Pearl.

best regards,

Theres plenty of other decoders out there but it is a shame cause the programme does look slick....Best.

Thanks. Ive tried using that and I could never get the format right even with tips from the forums. I use Blackberry Video Converter but it cant convert actual DVDs for me because they are protected, only videos I have on my computer

I have had excellent results using CloneDVD Mobile from Slysoft.com. It's not free and it doesn't get past the copy protection by itself (I use Slysoft's AnyDVD for that, but there are other programs that can get you past the copy protection), but it has a setting for Blackberry Pearl.

A couple of buttons pushed and 30 minutes (or so) and 150 (or so) megabytes later, you have a perfect full length movie from DVD on your Pearl. There's an unfettered 21 day trial, so you have nothing to lose trying it.

Other than using their products, I have no association with Slysoft. I just think they, so far, have the easiest and best way to transition DVD to my Pearl.
