Question Help with address book uncaught nullpointer exception

Hey, I need some help with an error I have been getting in my address book. It started by just giving me a "Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException" after typing a couple letters in to find a name to call. What would happen is that I would type about 3 letters in, the hourglass would come up and it would pause, and then it would throw that error and exit the little search screen to the home screen. That happened only every once in a while.

Then just recently I have been getting that error more often. Everytime I try to add a contact to my contact book, I type the info in, then hit back to save info and exit, I save the info, and then it does nothing. I am still in the page to edit contact info. So I try again, and this time it throws that error and exits. The contact was added (prob the first time I saved) but I dunno why it doesn't exit then. I also get this error when trying to delete a contact.

I am going to reinstall the OS but I need a link, and T-mobile's page is pretty counter-intuitive and does not have a link anywhere I can see. So if you have that link, it would help. Thanks!

Re: Help with address book uncaught nullpointer exception

Here is a thread that should be of help. Make sure you have a current Desktop Manager (4.2.2) before you re-install. Also if you oare on TMO and simply reinstalling your OS disregard any instructions to "delete the vendor file"

Thanks. I reinstalled the OS. Actually I installed the newest A1 version which worked pretty nicely. Things appear fixed. Not sure why I got that error. Thanks again.
