    Help w/multimedia

ok im not very good at using this phone at all... but i would think this isnt that difficult. I have been trying to transfer songs from my limewire to my phone. i go to my shared files folder where all the songs are, i click on one... push the arrow for ithe song to go to my device memory and it does nothing. theyre mp3s... so that might be a reason??? and ive done the exact same procedures and what not as i did to get the pictures off of my computer but i get nothing with the songs... heeelllp?!?!

oh and i searched before i asked... just couldnt find this specific problem

Are you using the desktop manager / media manager application? What version of Desktop Manager do you have?

Are you moving them to the device memory or the memory card? Your 8100 may not have enough room in it's own memory to store the songs. It is recommended to store all music and pictures on a memory card instead of the phone.

They are probably too large to transfer to the device memory. There is an ~ 2.8 Mbyte limit on transfers to the device memory. You need to get a microSD card for your pearl.

    Hope this helps.

1 GB is 1000 MB which is 1000 KB (approxiamete values that will work for your purposes).

hhhm well it says the songs are about 6. something MB each and it says i have 9.37 MB of free space buuuut it also says that the file size limit is 2.86... could that be the reason? maybe i cant transfer a file that big even if i have enough memory left?

Any electronics store can help you. Make sure you get a MICRO SD card. Scandisk seems to be the most reliable brand.
