    Hi, I today collected a 8100 Pearl phone on UK T-Mobile.

    I configured it all ok - the Email was working via Yahoo.

    However, the "browser" icon wasn't to be found, and on reading some posts decided to install a new o/s.

    Having struggled to locate this d/l, I finally found it on the T Mobile UK site - 4.2.0

    Installation didn't go well, and was followed by an error message.

    The BB now has the 507 error message, and isn't detected either by device manager, or running the update.

    Can someone please advise me,I'm very much a newcomer and a little worried now!

    `Well, somehow got out of Jail.

    I continued to try to connect it to the USB, with no recognition that it was linked.

    Eventually, the O/S began to install, and following a long egg-timer display, sprang into life!

    Basic moral is don't give up, if you have he 507 error message!
