i just got my pearl yesterday and it's been driving me crazy

can someone please help me figure out how to put music on this thing?

i'm not the most computer/blackberry savvy person in the world. it's my first time having one of these things.

well i got a 1gb microSD ... and i connected the usb to the computer w/ the phone and opened the media manager and my media card thing doesn't show up .... well it showed up once and then never again ..

    i don't know what the hell i'm doing ....

and the bluetooth ... i read on other pages that it can't get files from other phones ?? is that true ... i'm a first time bluetooth user too i tried to get music from my boyfriend's razr but it doesn't work ...

i was hoping to figure this whole thing out myself but i can't seem to figure it out .. using bluetooth and putting music on this phone ...

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
As mentioned above... Make sure you click NO to mass storage.

Bluetooth features that I am aware of, can only be used to its full capacity to another blackberry. I have tried sending files to friends phones, and they can receive them. When they try to send me something, it acts as though it is blocked. I am trying to figure that put myself.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~8100 can send and receive as long as you are in the same folder on the BB.

Options regarding bluethooth: send via bluetooth, receive via bluetooth...both in there. When sending to your BB via bluetooth, you have to click receive via bluetooth after configured with other device.

I used a bluetooth dongle and decided it was too time consuming...SO I enabled Mass Storage Mode and dragged and dropped everything! Quicker!!!

You have to format your Micro SD first after installing it. Go into Options> enter Advanced options> enter Media Card> Media card Support (ON)...
Mass Storage Support (ON)> AUto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected!!!! Plug your usb into Pearl which is connected to your computer , (DEVICE MANAGER is not needed) It will auto detect it..click on OPEN FOLDER to view files! Drag & Drop!

Re: help me please i'm pulling my hair out

My Desktop Manager doesn't work for some reason so I can't drag and drop. So I use bluetooth for uploading songs to my Curve. It's easy once you pair the device with the pc. The only problem I can't solve (which really isn't that big of a problem) is I can't seem to SAVE the songs to the MUSIC folder. They go into my RINGTONES folder then I have to move them. Does this happen to anyone else?

    Marisona,

Are you using a micro SD card or device memory?

mhamasaki26 - make sure the media card is connected. take it out and put it back in. you can only USB for the media. you should get a message on your phone to turn on the media. click yes. if your not getting that message you might have to go into the options on the blackberry folders and turn it on their.

see if that helps you. vbmenu_register

Re: help me please i'm pulling my hair out

I'm using a media card but when I go to Media Manager only device memory shows up. I can't find a way to show my media card. And I can't drag a song over or use the arrow.
When I upload song using bluetooth it always shows the media card folder for the destination and I can't change it to put the song in the music folder. I can click and move to other places but not the media card music folder. See what I mean?

In the media manager (on the bottom) you should see your phone listed, click that and see if you don't have device folder and a mass storage folder?

Re: help me please i'm pulling my hair out

So I have to save the song to my media card - ringtones folder then move it to my media card - music folder. It would be a lot easier if I could just drag and drop them using Desktop Manager but I don't see how. I can't even use Desktop manager on my laptop because it won't connect. It did once but that's all.
