Ok, I Have A Big Problem.

My Pearl Was Working Just Fine As Of 24 Hours Ago, Now The Radio Will Not Stay On..

As Soon As I Turn It On, It Turns Right Back Off In A Matter Of Seconds..

    Any Help?

    MrMoto,

If the phone is new you may want to exchange it, if you wish, the first solution I would try is to reinstall / upgrade the Operating System. Your profile does not list your 8130 OS version - here is the newest:

I actually carry the 8830 for work and the 8130 for my personal. I have version 4.3.0.81 in the pearl. Here is the catch, service is thru Alltel.

Ok, update. I did a complete wipe and left the battery out over night. I get it to come on for about 60 seconds give or take 10. No change, still will power off the radio. The rest of the functions are up and running normally...

Unfortunately you are probably right about the hardware but you can install the newer OS in your Altel device. Just delete the vendor.xml file after you install it on your PC and it will work.

you do realise that hte cell phones transmit and recieve via radio transmission right? by turning off the radio he is referring to turning off the phone capabilities. cutting off all transmission and recieve functions.

^^You do realize that there is RadioBee and XM Radio on BB's right? They may have thought that was the reference. Without stating the cell radio or signal it may be hard to tell.

The radio he is refering to is the cellular radio- how the phone communicates with the towers. It's not like XM or FM radio. The icon looks similar to a cell tower, at least on my phone it does. You can turn the radio off during airline travel but still have a functioning organizer to view appointments, calendars and such.

Actually as I understand the OP the issue is not that the device will not stay on, but that the "radio" shuts off (just like in airplane mode)...
