Are you on BES? Basically is your BB through your work?

Yes -- This didn't happen before the IT guy tried (and failed) to redirect my emails.

Sounds like IT has it set up so you can not disable the password. You may need to talk to IT.

Often a company policy requires something like a BB be password protected.

There's a way to disable the IT policy, but if u are saying you are on BES, then i dont think its wise to disable it on your own.

    Re: Help!! Disable password protection?

    bruceja, welcome to PinStack.

I think you are going to have to live with it. I think you might be able to set the autolock interval to it's max setting, but that is all.

And definately don't try to disable the IT policy as long as you are on your company BES. That's liable to get you disiplinary action from your company.

    Hope this helps

Hi bruce, welcome to pinstack. If you talk to the IT Admin and see if they will remove the restriction.

    Re: Help!! Disable password protection?

It's a bit tricky. If you have the Media Card options of the Advanced Settings has Encryption Mode set to Security Password, then you not be able to disable the general password.

    So, to disable the password:
Options --> Advanced Options --> Media Card --> Encryption Mode = 'None'

    Then go back t:
Options --> Security Options --> General Settings --> Enable/Disable should appear.

    John Galt, Welcome to PinStack.

Thanks for the information and the procedure, but that won't work if the BB has an IT Policy that requires password protecetion to be activated, as is the case in this thread.

Let us know if there is anything we can do to help with your BB.

THANK YOU!! I have been looking for this answer for days! I knew I didn't have an IT policy on my phone but still couldn't solve this promblem. Even Tech support didn't have this answer, nor countless sales people at roger's stores. Thanks again.
