Question Help!!! Blackberry Pearl 8100 Dropped In Water!

I just dropped my pearl in the water! It was in the sink. It fell when I was trying to check if my phone dropped a call and I'm freaking out!! I took out the battery and the sim card and I dried it a little bit with a blow drier on the cool setting and I read in a post that you have to take the phone apart so it dries! I can't do that because I just got this phone from my dad is there any way to let it dry out with out any damage and taking it apart? Oh and another thing. I tried puttting my battery back in and it has a water spot on the screen and the trackball doesnt work. Please help me :/ everything is out drying now. I picked it up once it fell in so it wasn't submerged very long.

In my experience, the best thing you can do is let it dry over time. Especially if you don't want to take it apart, try to avoid turning it on for a few days otherwise your taking a chance at frying it. My two cents !

place the pearl minus the battery and sim card in a bag of dried rice for a day or two. Or if you have a bunch of silicone gel packs that shoes come with they will work in place of rice. My boss dropped a phone in water and thats how I got hers working
    Good luck
    PS
I learned this trick from a popular mechanics mag, but here is the online article

do you think it will take a long time? And do you think the water spot will go away? Should I dry it with the screen down? Sorry about all these questions :/ I'm just worried.

It really would be best to take it apart to make sure all of the water is out. Then try the rice trick.

It is possible the spot will go away, but I would leave it in the rice overnight ( thats what pop mech recommended?. hey, I dont blame you for being worried. I freak when anything happens to any of my berries.

If you have a set of Torx T6 screwdriver set, you could take it apart.

    Annamarizzle,
A radioshack or similar store has the type of screwdriver set. Its a very small starshaped screwdriver. Google disassemble bb pearl and you will see lots of walkthroughs and vids on how to do it. Hopefully all works out well. Let us know

    Thumbs up

I think I'm gonna try the rice first i read what people said on the link you gave me and it worked on a curve that was in a worse situation than me thank you so much for your help.

The rice absorbs the water out of the phone.
