Welcome to pinstack dwight. You can rip songs from your personal CD collection and convert them to mP3s and then use the media manager of the desktop software to load onto the media card of your pearl. The songs from iTunes won't play on the Pearl unless someone has discovered something that I have not. There's a thread on this if you do a search.

That's a very substantive request. You need to look at all the posts in here and on the Net because even the below took me 15 minutes to type.

    ___________________________

    Briefly:

    Do you own any CD's?

    Are you using Windows XP?

Have you installed Windows Service Pack 2 Update, or is it on your PC?

If yes to all of the above, you have a Windows program called Media Player that came with Service Pack 2.

Windows Media Player has a "ripper" that will convert your CD music into MP3 files.

You can put in a CD, have Media Player open and follow the instructions there.

    ________________________

    To use your MicroSD card:

Install it into the slot behind the battery.

    Turn on phone.

On your Pearl make sure to "turn on" media card services.

    Go to <Options>

    to <advanced options>

    to <media card>

turn everything "on" and say "yes" to auto enable mass storage. Leave encryption mode to "none."

    Save your settings.

    _________________________________

After that you can simply connect your Pearl to the PC with the included USB cable.

Windows will recognize the Pearl's MicroSD card and open the card in Windows Explorer format.

From there you can simply "copy" your MP3 files on the PC and paste them into the Music Folder that Pearl created on the MicroSD chip.

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

    Stealing music is wrong.

Protected files, such as those purchased from legitimate music services (iTunes, Napster, etc), will not play on the Pearl.

However, and I only know this to work for iTunes, if you burn the songs to cd and import them, then the resulting files will no longer be protected. You will have generation loss and may induce artifacts into the third copy, but it will then be able to play on the Pearl.

    Stealing music is wrong.
