HELP: 8100 randomly resets w/ memory card in on 4.5

Since I upgraded to 4.5 last night, my tmo pearl 8100 randomly resets after booting when I have the memory card in. Its a 4 gig sandisk digital memory card. It seemed to be working fine right after the upgrade, but I think after i added song to the card via drag and drop that the problem started. Without the card it doesnt happen. any ideas on what to do?

Try the upgrade again without the media card installed. There are known
issues/problems when installing OS with card installed.

I recommend a complete wipe using JL_Cmder and reinstall of OS 4.5.

Reinsert the media card upon completion of OS install.

Ya I had that same problem when I updated. I backup the card to my pc, formatted the card on the pc, then dropped it in the phone and did another format on it (to allow it to create its own folders). ALSO...make sure none of the files that you put back on it are corrupted. As I had a few pics that were and that caused it to reboot and constant hourglass also.

I had that problem to and it was the pictures. Use dm to see. If there no info by the pic it will cause a reboot.

ok guys. thanks for the pointers. heres what did...
i formatted the card, let the folders create themselves. I put some files back and it seems to be fine for about 12 hrs now. (knock on wood). incidently enough, the files i put back were just my audio... no pics!

If you move the pics to your PC, use the View=>Thumbnails option to see if any of the pics don't show up. Those are the ones to get rid of.

I know this may sound like a fully question but how do you format a card. I am going to purchase a 4mb card.

Hmm... You might want to buy a 4GB card instead... :P options=> media card. Press menu, select format card.
