I've reasently had my black pearl taken from me (STOLEN)... I was looking over the terms and condition including the "Limited One Year" Manufacturers Warranty and on the context only states damages physically/data features and if the whole phones application gets wiped out they will not replace it nor restores it setting for you if it was damage by you or you had a 3rd party inputed application other than RIM.... my dilema is that since my phones value is worth more than $300 that my service provider does not qualify it for insurance coverage (cingular) and so they've suggested that I should add it to my home or auto insurance plan, but who do i file a complaint.... its too much of a hasle so I was wondering if anyone know if theres a program to detect or receive/send signal to the missing device? I figured since it have GPS and Bluetooth there must be some kind of utility program out there that had off designed it?
Please reply back to me stat....my whole life depends on it.....Im so lost>>>>>HELP!!!

The pearl doesn't have GPS integrated just GPS capable which means you have to use a BT GPS puck with it

Getting your phone back would be a long shot.

You can report your IMEI number somewhere, not sure where, but they can make the phone not work any more, making it useless so the person that has it cannot use it.

As far as insurance goes, I have no idea on that one.

    Re: HeLp!!!

Sorry to hear that (What the heck is up with people stealing BlackBerry devices????) but I have 2 questions. 1) Was it password protected and 2) did you back it up to a PC before it was stolen? You still have your info if it was backed up.

I am so happy I was able to get mine covered with Equipment Protection before it crapped out (I used to assume this was offered by all carriers but I guess it's not).

If anyone tried to walk off with mine, they would be on crutches with a broken foot after I run over them.
