Hello all, a friend turned me on to this site the other day, i'm the proud owner of a pearl (2 days so far) and am loving it. I have a few questions though about some things.

    1. I bought a 1 gig media card and it is installed and recognized, I wanted to put some songs on but they are all in itunes, i tried to transfer them over and they didn't show up, i am guessing this is a format problem. Is there any good way to convert them to make them blackberry friendly?

    2. This one may be strange, is there a way to record something, say off of TV and then use it as a ringtone? Is there an app that would do that or is this just a pipe dream?

Thanks folks love the site, you guys really know your stuff.

    1. ITunes songs will not work on bb. I'm not sure about any programs to convert them either, sorry. The bb takes .mp3, .wav, and .midi. I'm sure someone else will have an answer for that one.

    2. No, the Pearl does not have any recording capabilities besides voice notes, and that can't really be used to make a ringtone.

Well about the media card, you have to convert the music to BB supported files
(ex: MP3, Wav)...you can find a free converter (protected music converter), you can use a free trial, but you have to pay $$ for the full version

So, i used the converter you posted, and converted them to MP3s, i drag them over to removable drive f (BB Device)

I unplug the Pearl look in music and nothing, i have no clue where my music is going.

    Any ideas?

Did you open the blackberry folder then go into songs or ringtones (depending on where you want them) and drop them in that folder?

Sorry if I'm not a big help, but I'm trying anyway

    -peace!

Go into your Media folder then look for the music folder out of the 4 available icons shown. They should be in there.

Yes, what lavagirl said, unless your loading them from pc into your BB. Then take the file, open your removable drive double click the folder named "blackberry" then depending on if you want it as a song or ringtone double click that file then paste the file in that folder, if you still are havin problems then just post em up bud, once again, hope this helps.

In regards to using the TV to make ringtones you can do it. I actually have about 3 ringtones from using voicenote recordings mind you they might not sound as clear as a mp3 but anyway after you record and save the note hit the option key and then it will have save as ringtone option.
