so i decided that pearl was for me.

    camera.
    sleek design.
    newer features.
cheaper plans (long story not pertinent to many...)

then after almost two months i have realized that i have massive hands. i read all the posts about the pearl not being the phone for the thick fingered and all of that. i dismissed all of them.

then i realized i can palm an NBA sized basketball. i am barely 6'1. so... i decided to get out the old 8700.

    it is bulky.
    it doesnt have voice dialing.
it doesnt have a camera that is so convenient when my 14 year old dog decides to wake up.

but it has a qwerty keyboard. i love suretype. i never had one complaint.
i think i just like qwerty better. a personal preference.

it fits better in my hands.

i work for nike. all of my life i have been fitting runners for the correct style shoe for them. i have a sense for feel and fit.

for ME, the 8700 is the better phone.

    UNTIL THE 8800 comes out.

then i will be set for life.

    maybe.

I am considering doing the same. I have bb service in both the US(Verizon) and Canada(Rogers). I am using a 8703e for the Verizon Network which is OK, no complaint and a 8100 for the Rogers Network.......8100 is cool, but suretype just bugs me.....I hope I can get used to it pretty soon.

well good choice. Hope everything goes well.

At first, I too was surprised at how small the keyboard was. But luckily I got small and slender fingers to type on that damn thing. I think I am getting pretty good at it.

I went from a 7series to the 8100 (2 8100s actually) to the 8700. Though I do miss the camera of the pearl, the functionality and RELIABILITY of the 8700 is much better.
Plus it looks better pulling it out at a job interview (I had a sidekick for a month...didn't get that job ).

    Favorite apps for the 8700??

Whatever works best for your lifestyle and your freakish hands!!!!

Have you checked out the 8800 yet to see if it may be your next move? Maybe just wait for the 8320? Either way if you're sticking with a BB you're ok by me
