Are there any free GPS programs that actually SPEAK to you? I don't like Google Maps... I can't click the wheel and read every time -- I would like to hear the directions spoken to me... is there any program available?

For free, I doubt it. Everyone wants their money; and Verizon likes to lock their GPS down; Not sure if anything but VZ Navigator will work on the 8130; Telenav GPS Navigator may work, but I haven't tried it. The VZ Nav is nice though

Try Infospace FindIt. It has spoken directions. Not sure how well it works with GPS, but I assume it should be okay considering it supports it.

I use a really great program called amazegps. My mapquest trial ran out and i loved it turn by turn nav. So i need to find something and amaze gps did the trick, perfect nav, with voice directions, and points of interest, plus a google maps overlay. Pretty sweet. www.amazegps.com

    Enjoy

LOL I CAN drive and read (did it with all my non-GPS bbs), I just prefer to have it sitting there talking to me if possible since this phone actually has GPS capabilities.

I have been using Nav4All exclusively for that feature. The maps aren't the greatest but it definitely serves its purpose. I don't have the download link right now, but a quick search here will turn it up. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

You're stuck paying I think since Verizon locks their GPS down like a chastity belt. I think you're pretty much SOL.

Receiving signals from the satellites is free. But using maps requires a data plan. Also it you have verizon they lock it down
