Formatting the SD Card from my SLVR

For some reason it is being read as a mass storage device, but I do not have an option of formatting. It says "The mass storage device is in use" even when the phone is unplugged and MSD is disabled.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks guys,
    Chris

I was able to format the SD Card from my SLVR, in the Pearl, from the Options menu.

    Go to Options
    Advanced Options
    Media Card
Menu button - Select Format Card

I don't have a Format Option because of the error up top.

You'll have this error when it's plugged into any usb cable that is connected to a PC, or maybe even a bluetooth connection as a mass storage device.

Disconnect everything, including turning off Bluetooth, and try again.

Do you have a background image set as your wallpaper that is stored on the media card? Or maybe an MP3/Video that is paused in the Media Player? That "might" cause this kind of error not sure.

You might want to try a battery pull for 30 seconds as well and then try formatting the mSD card.

Perform a battery pull. Then try the format again. For some reason, as you mentioned, its being read as an MSD and you are not able to access the format option. A hard reset should do the trick in addition to disconnecting everything and turning off BT.
