    Re: Formatting SD Cards?

You sure can use it in your BB. One trick is to format the card while in your BB so it is formatted properly.

    Options
    Advanced Options
    Media Card
Select media Card, once in hit the menu button

Should bring up the option to format.

    Good luck!

Not trying to thread jack, but I just picked up an 8GB Sandisk Micro SDHC card and whenever I go to format it, it just sits there saying that its formatting and then my phone reboots.

Any ideas what I may be doing wrong? Thanks

Check to see if the Micro SD card is Bad

i had the same problem, the card was not working in the BB. I bought it while traveling. It did not work in my Blackberry. Unfortunately, I was unable to use it for the intended purpose.

Later, during a continuation of my travels, I was sitting next to another with a BB. We tried my card in his BB and his card in my BB. Well my card did not work in his BB and his card worked in my BB. Later I tried formatting the card with the PC. The PC did not recognize it this new Micro SD card I had bought.

Here I am, wasting hours of what little time we have on this planet trying to make a gizmo work and it turns out that the Micro SD card was the culprit. I exchanged the Micro SD card at another branch of the retailer, and that was an experience.

Since I was traveling when I bought it, the clock started ticking immediately. Trying to resolve the issue consumed time. I never thought it could be the Micro SD card. The retailer said that since 16 days had passed, I was out of luck as their electronics return policy was 14 days.

I had to appeal my case to the mgr. Reluctantly, the mgr allowed an exchange.

All this work for a 13$ 2 gb Micro SD card. They could not possibly pay me for the labor of stressing over trying to make the blackberry work. The labor just to return the item was an hour roundtrip from the time I left my door till I got back.

The retailer was walmart. I never shop them because of their oppressive vendor and employee policies, but I was in a box while traveling. This experience with them just reinforced my dislike of them.

Anyway, here is what I learned from this:

Get a card from a pal who is using a card inside of their Blackberry. Put your pal's card in your Blackberry, if it works, you know the Blackberry works. Then put your card in your pals blackberry. If you get a failure, you know it is the card that does not work.

I like everyone else, never thought the card could be the culprit.
