    Question Faulty Trackball

    I purchased a pearl about 8 weeks ago. While i'm happy with the handset when it's working i'm now on my second one and this also seems to have developed the same fault as the first. Handset no1 was replaced as the trackball would intermittantly stop working but only in the up direction. It then stopped working all together. Now with handset 2 i'm having the same problem with the track ball. Still intermittently and still only in the up direction.

    Is anybody else had this problem? i wonder how common it is and if it might be worth changing handset's to another model? 2 Handset's in 8 weeks seems a bit steep. Especially with the same fault.

    Cleaning the track ball with canned air will work and not carrying it in a Pocket helps it not get lint in it.

    I agree, cleaning the trackball religously, will help tremendously!!

    I have had exactly the same experience - first phone developed this fault after 30 days, the second after 45. Obviously really shoddy build quality

    Welcome to the Stacks Nick. Sorry you're having problems with your Pearls. I would definitely try using the canned air to see if that helps. I know that it has helped many Stackers keep the trackball healthy.
