    Question Export Address Book

We used to use ACT for our contact database. I did an originally synch to our 8100 Pearl Blackberry but didn't keep it up. We are now using a different contact database that I want to synch to the Blackberry ongoing. Ideally, I would like to delete all the data currently on the Blackberry but as you can imagine some data has been added that we would need to keep. Here are my questions:
    • Is there a way to export all the data from the Blackberry to something like an Excel spreadsheet so I can view it easily and make note of the information we want to manually add to our new database prior to doing a fresh synch?
    • Or, how can I set-up the synch to allow us to choose what stays on the blackberry, remove the rest and then synch the new stuff from the new database onto the phone?
Thanks in advance for any help. I love this forum. It's helped me so much in the past!

well im not to sure what type of data but on the desktop manager you have an option to backup/restore, it'll back up the nformation on your device and then you can do a selective restore after you wipe your handheld.

    Sinc Pearl with Outlook.
Then clear out addresses in Outlook, wipe Pearl, and sync again. Shazam, done...

    Re: Export Address Book

Is the new Contacts Database compatible with the Blackberry Sync function. If not it's going to be a multistep task but you can use the Sync Function to export to an ASCII Character separated File, which can be directly imported to Excel. Then you can merge it with the database, manipulate your contacts, export that back to a ASCII File and import back to the Blackberry.

    Hope this helps

    Re: Export Address Book

Thanks for all the suggestions. This will be my task for the weekend.

I think I will try to Outlook suggestion first. I really just want to get the data from his Pearl to an easier to read format so we can easily review to determine what data we want to keep. I will probably then manually add what we are keeping to the new database so I can just complete a fresh install.
