    Error upgrading to latest Rogers OS

    Well here we go again. LOL, last year I ran into the same issue going to the latest version. This time I don't have to do anything since its a rogers phone and rogers upgrade but i still get that dreaded Unspecified error encountered [J:0x00000005] error halfway through installing. If I remember correctly I got this last time too and I had to remove some of the languages from the install for it ot work. Always fun, always fun. Any other ideas if this doesn't work?

    Primus,

    What Desktop Manager are you running? If it is not 4.3 suggest you perform a clean uninstall of the old product and upgrade to 4.3 and see if this corrects the problem.

    i was in the process of dloading the latest 4.3 (still had 4.2) when I tried this again with 4.2. I removed all the languages except english and french and it went through fine. I now have a phone again lol. I am going to uninstall 4.2 and install 4.3 for future use though. I know it says use the latest manager but i couldn't find anywhere saying make sure you have 4.3 for the latest rogers update.

    Glad to hear you are up and running! RIM suggests that error is related to a conflict with the device software and desktop manager version.
