    email question

i'm a little new with the email function on my phone, is there a way that i can set my phone up so that my email only comes between a certain time frame. My friends like to send e-mails out between midnight at 4 in the morning, which makes sleeping a little difficult. i know that I could always but my phone on silent, or turn it off..but it's my main phone, so i need people to be able to get a hold of me incase of emergencys.

In your message list go to options>email settings>send messages to handheld>no

    Re: email question

Go to profile when you don't want your emails to come through and set it to "Phone only".
You can switch it back when you want the emails to come back through.
The above suggestion will stop all emails from coming completely and you may not want this.

    Re: email question

Or you can just set your profile to quiet so it doesn't wake you.

Or tell your friends to go to bed! LOL!

That's why I turn my email notifications off. I get 300 emails+ a day from work and it use to drive me insane. I swear I could be asleep with the phone off and still hear that stupid Jingle........

Yeah, buy your friends some Tylenol PM for Xmas. It's a subtle hint.

    Re: email question

i've sadly learned to shut out the notifications on my bb and can now sleep thru them all (ask my east coast friends )

the ONLY thing that will wake me up is the actual ringtone from ringing or the alarm (antelope...i hate that alarm but it works )

the phone only profile, whilst sleeping is the best suggestion

1 thing that might work is to set audio email notification off when in the holster (assuming you have one) then pop it in the holster when you go to bed. Easiest way to sleep quiet without having to change options every night

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
How about just setting the 'auto-off/on' feature found in 'Settings'? You can then just forget it, and let BB take care of all that for you!

    Re: email question

I have discovered through careful study and scientific observation that there is virtually nothing that happens between midnight and 7 AM that I need to know about right that second.

I have auto on/off set to turn off at 11 each night and turn back on at 6 AM. My "alarm" is the first email notifications coming in the next morning.

    Re: email question

lol. thanks guys. i've told half my freinds that if they send me emails eariler than 9 in the morning they may not live to tell about it, so the smart asses started text messaging me instead. i think it's in my friends "job" description to be annoying while i try to sleep.

    Re: email question

ya at mid-night our time you should mass mail them all every 10 minnutes see how they like being rousted at 3am...anyways the best suggestion is to just have your phone do what latufu does...i use this feature also as i get bombarded non-stop with e-mail and texts everyday...also have it set up for my lunch hour that's MY TIME!...hope this helps
