    Email problems after new OS install

    Hi guys,

    Just installed the new OS for Cingular Pearl .71 Now I cant send or receive emails thru BIS. Any suggestions? Everything else works - phone, address book, applications, etc.

    Go into options - advanced options - host routing table open the menu and select register now

    Hope this helps

    Thanks. I just did that and it said a "Registration message was sent!". How long does this registration notification take, any idea?

    Still no love. Any other ideas? I also re-sent the Service Books, but that didnt work either...

    are you showing internet connection? upper case GPRS/EDGE/WHATEVER THEY HAVE ON CINGULAR?

    No. Only lowercase "edge". Also, I cant find my BB Browser Icon on the screen. Help!

    when you registered on the host routing table did you do so on the bold option?

    The only options I had were "Register Now" and "Close" from the Options Menu.

    ok, so here is what to try. Back up all info fist of course. Go into the menu and go to device set up wizard. Hit next all the way to the end then oce finished pull battery with phone on. Once you turn the phone back on go into options> advanced options> host routing table> go to the bold option and register now. You should get a confirm 30- 1 min later with a message like registration successful.see if you get the icon then // if not wipe handheld and step through device setup wizard again. If it still does not work reload the OS again.

    Did the Setup Wizard/Battery removal thing. Still no dice. I dont want to wipe the unit just yet and re-install the OS.

    You're probably just missing your BIS service books. Log into your bis account and resend them. This is different that register now in the host routing table.

    After being on the phone with Cingular Data Support for 2 hours, I wiped the device, reinstalled the desktop software and new OS. Resent the service books and registered for the host routing table. I still don't have the BB Browser icon or email service. WTF?

    you don't happen to have it hidden somewhere do you? do you even get the media net icon?

    this is stumping me too...is the browser service book even there? under modules?
