If I send an email from my pearl, is there a way that I can be notified if that particular party has opened and read it? Date and time would be a bonus! Thanks in advance

yes, this is a new feature of BIS 2.3

the only thing i think you will get back is an R for read or a D for delivered...i don't think time/date are an option. AND...i don't think it works for all emails

while in message application, click menu/options/email settings
you will need to edit each email address you have pushed to/from your bb

does only apply to messages sent to other blackberry users or will also work with some with a hotmail account for example?

that would be ultra lame if it was only for bb user to bb. If this is the case is there a 3rd party app that would do this? thanks again

    touche cherrichiodo, touche...

Do you know of any 3rd party apps that would handle such a task (price is of no concern)?

thanks for your help, but the thread to my understanding was talking about synching a personal yahoo account. I was talking about sending a message to a friend with yahoo account and being notified if he opened it. Do i have to manually update something? Or are on completely different pages

Re: email notification question (i searched...I swear)

did you even go to change the settings in your mail app like i mentioned in post #2?

yes, you have to manually change those settings so that you get a read receipt or delivered receipt. from WHAT email provider would you be sending the message from?

Re: email notification question (i searched...I swear)

    ok...let me try again.

i am sending to a yahoo email, from a yahoo email and actually get 'delivered' and 'read' receipts within my email...that shows time and date stamped.

when i send from my @mycingular.blackberry email, i still get the R and D beside the email on my bb, but no 'read receipt' email (like what you get from outlook)

    does that make more sense?
