Hello, I'm Trebor and I have recently bought an 8110 on o2IRL and use Gmail as my email.

I'm having an issue when that, everytime I send an email, or receive one, confirmation is sent to both the device and the email account. I then procede to delete the confirmation from the inbox on the device but it remains in the account. Is there a way of stopping it altogether?

Access your BlackBerry Internet Service webpage for your provider. Set a filter to not receive emails with those confirmations in the subject, as well as set Gmail to send them to trash automatically.

It sounds like you are talking about getting duplicate emails when you send one?
If so you have to set up a rule (Filter) from you BIS site, to not send a duplicate to the device.

Let us know if that works for you.....

Ok, great. That worked, thanks. Now, how can I set it so that, if I delete messages on either the device or email account, it deletes it on the other?

Go to email; Options> Email Reconciliation> Delete on: 'Prompt'. Make sure that you have the gmail account selected when doing this!

ok you need to go into your carriers BIS website and first set a filter for your name

    create a filter:
    from field contains "your name"
    do not forward to device.

also in your E-mail folder (on your phone) go to options and then general options
and either delete on handheld or on phone and handheld
