email and sms in one icon

Just got my 8100, previously using a 7130v and I'm noticing a small problem, there is only one messages icon for both emails and sms unlike on my 7130v, both using the Dimension-Zen theme, any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance...

what was the icons for SMS and email on the 7130? I've only had the 8100 so I wouldn't know the difference.

there should be a messages folder that includes all messages and then a seperate folder for your email only
If Death calls it is OK, I have Caller ID.

Welcome to pinstack. Does the Zen theme that come with the pearl have the same exact layout and the Zen theme the rest of us have to unlock. I think I read somewhere it is similar, but not exactly the same.

As I understand it, the Pearl ZEN theme does not separate SMS messages out of the Message App list.

    Hope this helps

Re: email and sms in one icon

The zen theme on the 8100 is slightly different from what I can see on my 7130v, on the 8100 the home screen icons are down the left hand side, 7130v is the opposite and on the 8100 the main menu is icons whereas on the 7130v its a list.

Its the icon for both the home screen and the application list that I'm referring to, on my 7130v I cad 2 icons/folders, one for sms and the other for email, simply and convienent. So on the home screes, you could see which had new messages sms or email and then simly hit that icon. There is no such thing on the 8100, is this a them related issue or a phone related one?
As it stands, its probably the only thing stopping me from switching over to the 8100.

    Thanks in advance...

Try unlocking the other Vendor Themes:
    http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com...+vendor+themes

Some Themes combine SMS-Email and some dont.

Unlock them all and find the one you like, I use T-Mo zen(white one) and there is a seperate icon for SMS/MMS and Email

Managed to unlock those themes and the white T-mobile one seems to do the trick. Quite annoying though that you need to change theme in order to gain this functionality as it's obvious that the phone has the ability, seems strange that not all themes utilise it.

plisken, considering that this feature is a feature of the theme, and not buried in the OS, it is normal that you have to have the correct theme for it to work.

Re: email and sms in one icon

I have both icons in the Zen theme, one for email only the other for all messages. I am pretty sure both showed up when I switched to Zen but I may have had to change some settings. I just recall tinkering with it a little but can't recall what I did exactly.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~just realized that if you are on a bes, as I am, you can color code the messages, thereby separating the bes and non-bes messages. Go to options - security -general settings. The option to color code is there. Hope that helps a bit.
