    Email alert

I just got a Blackberry Pearl Ruby for Christmas, and I am having a hard time to turn off the email alert. You know when you receive an email, you also receive an SMS alert with F: "email subject" from the number 700. I was wondering if anyone knows how to turn that alter off.
    Thanks.

I don't have that happen... so you get the email AND an SMS notification of it also? what email account? Is it hotmail or yahoo?

It is a school account, nd.edu. I don't know if that's the reason for it though.

Alright, I did those up until editing in the messages[email]. When I click on the it, the options I get are:
    Out of Holster:
    Tune:
    Volume:
    Number of Beeps:
    Repeat Notification:
    Number of Vibration:

    In Holster:
    Tune:
    Volume:
    Number of Beeps:
    Repeat Notification:
    Number of Vibration:

Which one do I need to change?
    Thanks

In holster is like a dock or something, edit those options to your desire, and that should do it...Let us know if it works!!

there is nothing in the Profiles to turn off the SMS you are also receiving (if that is what you are saying)

    Re: Email alert

I don't have anything like this for any of my 5 email accounts. Did you, prior to having a Blackberry, have some sort of SMS notification turned on at the school's server to alert you (via your previous normal phone) when you had a message on the school's email system?
