Hey all, I have a serious issue! Ok.. I had my Blackberry Pearl 8100 in my hand, and it slipped in a pot of boiling water while I was reaching to turn the stove off!! Once it fell, it was still glowing or whatever in the pot so I hurried and grabbed it out ( BURNING MY HAND FIRST DEGREE! ).. Now its sitting under a blow dryer and im afraid to put the battery and SIM card back in!! What should I do?!?!

The best thing to do is to keep the hair dryer blowing on it. If you are comfortable working with electronics and have a torqs wrench, No 6 I believe it is, then you might want to open up the device to allow more airflow. I would leave it drying for a couple of days then check to see if it still works.

    Hope this Helps

Alright.... Thanks you guys for helping me!

Are you sure about that? Wouldn't the moisture from the refrigerator make
    the situation worse?

No I would not recommend putting it in the refrigerator.
Use the torx 6 to take it apart as much as possible and keep it in a bowl of rice as rice will absorb moisture.
The boiling water part concerns me, but let's hope all is not lost.
Don't put battery in or try to power on for at least 48 hours.

Use dryer in Cold mode and let it air dry for a couple of hours.

I have personally seen this work...

Put it in a bowl of uncooked rice. Bury it completely. My mom went swimming with hers, left in a bowl of rice for a couple days, been working for 9+ months since.!

    Re: Need Help Asap!!

As stated earlier, easy on the hair dryer unless its in cold mode. Don't want to over heat the BB. As for me when my pearl got wet, I just opened it up as much as I could and let it air out for a few days. Put it back together and was shocked to see that it was working perfectly. (and it was cleaned)
    Good Luck
    :)

Thanks you all for helping me! I put the battery in three days later, after it was dry and now it seems to be working back properly! Thanks so very much!
