Hello everyone I am a new member of this forum and a proud new owner of the blackberry pearl. Love the phone....its cool.
I am looking to buy the micro SD card for it and I want to know what is the biggest size that can be used? I read somewhere that the 2GB card doesnt work well with the pearl? Please clarify senior members? thank you

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~2gig works IF you have updated your os. If not you can only use a 1gig.
    Hope that helps.

I just got the phone 2 days ago, so does it mean it comes with the updated OS or one has to do it themselves? If yes how?

I am not sure if it does of not, we should check so all you need to do is this: go to options on the main screen and then hit about. Your OS should be on the 3rd line. Just post back with what it is(for ex. mine is v4.2.0.71 (Platform 2.2.0.41), we will be able to tell you if you have the latest one or not.

    Re: Does Size matter????

Well there are different OS for T-mobile and Cingular. You can use the T-mobile OS with Cingular and the Cingular OS with T-mobile. I think you would want to use the T-mobile one to be safe. I have the Cingular pearl so I don't want to give you wrong info. It shouldn't take long for a T-mobile pearl owner to come along and help.

You can install any carrier's OS. I had an unlocked tmo pearl on cing network running tmo OS for 4 months. I'm on cing .71 now.

And as for sd size, I've used both as well as a 512mb at first and they have all worked with no issues. Its pref as to how much or what exactly you are putting on the card.

For those that are still a little confused...

.42 is an old OS version for TMO and it only supports 1GB

.64 is the newest so far that TMO has released and it supports 2GB

    Hope this helps

    .64, T-Mobile, 2GB... works fine. That's what I have.
