do you think that a bb 8100 is ok for me

I am 16 years old and I got a pearl because my other cell phone suffered quite a bit of "problems" we can say.
any way i had been looking at pearls for a while and thought it would be cool (i have T-mobile) and finally got one
its really really cool but it does lack the video feature which i can live without anyway

i have been having odd thoughts that maybe some of the features are a little more matured for me and i cant get it to its full potential i mean most things on there i use calender maps the gmail thing and txt mostley

anyway i dont know that maybe this phone is a little not advanced i can use all the features etc but i dont think that maybe the phone is a little more advanced for a teen
its too late i cant get another phone less i cancel the plan which will cost an arm
if i was to have 2nd thoughts and wanted a new phone what could i do? take it to those keisoks that are trading phones?

If you decide you want to get a different phone, I'd sell it on eBay,Craigslist or list it here. I've used Ebay and have had great luck. I haven't heard of the phone trading option.

Trust me kiddo (yeah I know, my 14 y/o grandaughter hates that too ), the Pearl is a good choice.

I got one for me and for her. We obviously use them in different ways, but she loves hers.

She's got a 2gb card for music, pictures (mostly of her little brother and her psychotic cat) and ringtones. She is the text message queen of the Eastern Seaboard, and she has even started using some of the traditionally business features such as the calendar, push email (all of which are pushed to me as well, she hates that too), etc. Stay with it. It is a great phone with a lot of features that both the young and old (that would be me) can appreciate.

And think of it this way, I got this phone for her, you on the other hand, at your age had the perspicacity (look it up) to recognize a great device all on your own.

    You da man

You underestimate the intellectual curiosity of our youth, or maybe you are just projecting your own intellectual laziness onto them.

He or she may be able to figure it out as well but I am still hoping he/she looks it up. Either way I was paying the original poster a compliment and that should not get lost in the minutiae of grammar and usage.

It takes a very special person to truly own and appreciate a BB. Coming to the stacks, in my opinion, gives you a big up. You took the time to find a place to get some answers for yourself. That is awsome. If only more people who own BB would take that approach. As others have said the BB will come to you but it will take some time, patience, and learning on your part. Bottom line though, there isn't a phone on the planet that is quite like a BB. Enjoy.

Well your on a BlackBerry forum, so the general opinion will be biased toward BlackBerry.

I think I was 17 or so when I got myself a 7100T, at that age I wanted to play music, videos, games and what not. I ended up going to a Treo 700W, it worked for a while but eventually I started working at my old high school as tech support and on my own business. At that point the Treo 700W wasn't doing what I wanted because I had to store data, remotely work with pc's, and get riploads of email while being reliable. Windows Mobile crashed decently often so I got an 8100.

For the time being the 8100 is doing the job quite nicely. It's really up to you... I think if I was 16 right now, I'd grab a sidekick myself.

Enterprise is for someone that uses the BES server for work email. You aren't missing anything by not being able to "unlock" it

Give it some time, It took me just a few days to get used to the keypad layout for texting, and I text alot! I love this phone, i went from a Samsung to the Pearl. My first BB ever, and love it. I too have a 2gb card for music/music videos/porn
It is a great phone, great for internet, emailing, calendar.
I have twins that are 11, and two teen age daughters that cant wait for the new Pearl to come out so I can get it, and they will fight for my Pearl
