Disable the dial tone on the 8120?
Right now I would like to throw a cream pie in the face of the idiot designer who decided it was a good idea to keep users from disabling the dial tones. So, unless I place my profile in quiet or vibrate mode, everyone around me has to listen to my key tones?! My head is going to explode. How does a device get to market lacking features which were included in models 4 years ago?
Hey RIM, looking for any QA people who are able to think like John Q. Consumer? Hit me up.
Hi Jonny, sorry your having a problem, i think I can help you though. If you go to Options>and then Screen and Keyboard> scroll down to Key tone and set it to Off. this should help.

Spelling doesn’t determine your I.Q.
setting the Key tone to off will disable it for everything except for when you dial a phone number. It is on by design on the BlackBerry device when dialing a phone number and cannot be disabled.
