Do you have an autolock turn app? And also if the * is pressed for like 5 seconds it look it so that might be doing unwanted locks in ur pocket~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

The * probably was pressed in my pocket, and unlocking it put me in an awkward situation.

I don't think I'd miss *-based autolock, if I can find out how to turn it off.

Standby mode works best for me, instead of locking the keyboard.. just hold the Mute button on the top of the phone, then again to revive. This way you can still put it in your pocket and not have to worry about it locking itself.

To try to clarify, I'm NOT concerned about preventing accidental "on."

I'm concerned about keeping the * key from ever locking the keyboard again. Is there a way to turn off that keyboard lock function?

    Thanks.

I've never heard of a way to do this, you can turn off your password in security settings so unlocking will not require a password. Just out of curiosity, why would you need to disable?

Because, like yesterday, I was in a situation where I needed to make a call right away. I normally keep it in a case, so I don't expect locking to be useful, but I do think there will be more times when it will be a inconvenient or dangerous.
